I was in a “marshrutka” to my work listening to a song by Doston U. “Севиб Қолсан Нима Бўлади?”. (What happens if I fall in love?)

Believe me, it was very irritating unless, I thought it were “Imagination Land” by South Park.

Had it been easier to set up clubs, interest groups here, I would definitely open “Songs with over 100 words”, and set the threshold to at least 100 words for a song to be eligible in the list.

The local media is bursting with slogans “If any obstacle with regards to obtaining, licenses or dishonest state agents inhibiting your business, call 008”

I’d like to ask, has anyone called? If no, you don’t loose much. First, hardly every do they pick up the phone. Second, they do not administer any help, but give you a daunting task -  non-operating phone numbers.

What is wrong with the government? They King-Kong their breast, but all promises, statements are so hollow. I’d like to state a wonderful relevant poem by Erkin Vohidov (in Uzbek, sorry dudes)

No kidding, I wish it were an anecdote, but if you recall my earlier post on Collection Sack, where I described logic killing red tape to buy the sack (in fact collection sack is a must thing for a retail entity), this short article is an extension to it.

As after scraping through with payment for the Collection Sack, you are told to have a document entitling you to receive the item in the name of the LLC director, even if you director already.

Had Britney been born in Uzbekistan, she would have sung “You drive me crazy” in a totally different context.

Yes, I am very skeptical if the prospects of investments heralding through the media anyhow reduces the red tape one has to experience to set up a legal entity in the country.  About red tape, there is so much to say, but I will suffice with one of the most ridiculous steps in becoming a legal entity - “Инкассовый мешок”, which is a Collection Sack.

Sounds quite a minor matter, but is pain in the ass. Sorry for the vulgar statement, but here is the story.

You know where I am leading to. I’d not write this article if buying an item was as easy as giving money to receive it in exchange. You cannot buy a Collection Sack so easily, so stick with me.

First off, the bag costs a bit over 43,000 UZS ($18), while more durable and larger bags (mostly industrial) are 9 times cheaper - $2.13. Used collection sacks are out of discussion, as they are not allowed for sale, thus you need to buy a new one, anyway. So, you have no option.You have cash, a plastic card and you are about to buy it.

But you get an answer, that helps you recall the country name with a pity. Guess what, you cannot buy it neither for cash nor for a plastic card. You need to deposit money to your newly setup business bank account, which you can accomplish only at the headquarters of the servicing bank. Then make a payment order. After, relieve a bit, and travel back for this damn Collections Sack. And now, you are done with all these partially.

Where I am boiling down to is, with an Einstein approving ridiculous laws which demand special knowledge for a simple transaction, then FDIs, local investments, credit lines, etc. are worthless. Thus all the rest are BLAH BLAH projects in 2011, $XXX,XXX,XXX investments.)

Rolled loads of snow and the streets ended up with clean pavements and a snowman over 100kg.

First off, reckoned snowman as a waste of time aftermath. But if you look at it form  a different perspective, considering society where outdoors are poorly kept clean and roads full of holes, masses of snowman have an intrinsic value for society – keep the wheels off the holes. At least, you know what you are running over.

Yup, it is social work, but you don’t have to commit any minor crimes to be involved in it. It is fun to do.

Definitely, it must be one of the hard times for the state to make coherent decisions, and we must come to terms with it. In the worst case we have to take it as it is. 

A bit off the topic, if you recall one of your first classes of English, “Where do you come from?” is a worn-out question you will practice a lot while digging in “What, Where, Who, etc” question types.

You maybe guessing it right, where I am boiling down to - “where is your ПРОПИСКА?” is another question combination that seems to convey more irritating and alarming state in a person, which you will hear a lot beyond your classes. As the negative answer would depart you back to the region where you come from.

But, soon is a new decree regarding registration in Tashkent to be passed that I hope will represents a bit more logic – all citizens of Uzbekistan can enjoy equal rights. And that “ПРОПИСКА” is not Visa or a magic boarding pass to the capital.

With deep frustration I have to write this article, as I am like thousands of people from regions (if not a million) also being rejected “ПРОПИСКА”, that is, we are being deprived of work and live opportunities in Tashkent which is in Uzbekistan actually.

You may wonder now what the heck the title of the article has to do with the content. Well it indeed does, if you consider the fact that rickshaws are banned in upper Mumbai, just like people from the regions in our flourishing capital.

Let’s hope that the new law/decree will be more cogent and will not discriminate people living here.

Oops, my passport seems to be expiring, as am almost 25. This would not much put me on the alert. Instead, I’d be glad to celebrate it and have fun, but please recall how “crucial” the passport is to verify your being human.

Apart from that, a lot bureaucratic snags boil down to your passport, after all;p)

Anyways, you don’t have to say happy birthday (maybe you could;p).

Gosh, I bet there is no lining up in a queue. Though, I’ll try to enjoy it at a passport’s table from 6 in the morning.

One of such much ado was around Coca Coal, Inc broadcasted on History Channel, that student unions at Essex University are marching with a “Killer Cola” slogan.

Were these dudes accusing the company for unhealthy soft drinks, I would understand their concerns. It is in fact pretty irritating to affix “Human Exploiter” label on them.

Working for International Companies is equivalent to better work-life balance, healthier environment, higher salaries for non-developed countries and if you leave their employment responsibility to their states, then the people will end up with much worse conditions.

Awwww, poor me and other emotional attitudes cannot be the gravity of commonsense, but surveying people in such circumstances.

YET, people do take a similar attitude, wrongly abiding by “Practice makes perfect”.

Practical proof of a difference between man and a monkey was emergence of agricultural and hunting tools. Their development, hence would further depreciate this comparison . But, some have not gone too far.

As a development leverage, I’ve chosen one of the essential agricultural tools - spade. Heavy reliance on agriculture for a long period should imply improved designs of tools. However, it is not always the case. Spade used by my grand grand grand parents does not much differ than the ones we use today, as we are still earning blisters due to the shape of its handle. Suffice it to say, we plow today, as we did many years ago.

On the other hand, developed countries were not industrially born. They too started off from agriculture. But, in a relatively shorter period, some blister freaked genius came up with a T-shaped handle spade. Which formed some kind of a loop for hand, helped avoid blisters, and apply greater pressure. They no longer waste time pitying their worn out hands. Voila tout!!

In fact, spade is not the only mirror of development, it was an analogy in this article. By the same token, we could compare irrigation systems. But the point is clear. Practice does not make it perfect, it causes blister on and on!!!

Thus “Only conscious practice can make it perfect!!!”
